My husband spotted him around 6pm We have a very wooded lot and he was in our back yard which is mostly woods. My husband called me to the window. The window was only about 25 feet from the woods where it was We were indoors and didn't hear anything, but even with all the windows closed in the house he spotted us and stood and looked at us for several minutes and then walked off into the denser wood. We did not get a photo but we did see tracks and scat. It was definitely a mountain lion, it was not a bobcat or fisher cat. We are positive! We both saw it. We did report it to local police and the environmental police. (We have 6 wooded acres near the quarry in Becket. Off Algerie and Quarry Road. Our home site is in the middle of our property.)

i am envious to have such an unforgettable nature moment. i saw a bobcat once in the woods - was probably 30 feet away, but it was a very windy , noisy day in the woods, and she never saw me. she just strolled by. it has remained imprinted on my mind! thanks for sharing your exciting experience!
